How to fix a backward installed integrated circuit base?
I am putting a project together and accidentally install the IC base(es) backward. There's a notch at one end of the base that I didn't see till it was too late. Basically, the board have the notch on one end and I install the base with the notch on the other end.
My question is do I have to de-solder the base and reorient it? or can I just plug in the IC with the notch orient the in the correct direction (opposite of the base)?
You can plug the chip in the other way and it will work. Its just pins. The only thing is you'll confuse the next guy that tries to fix it.
