One of my radiators has sprung a leak at the bottom of the rad: I have shut off both ends thinking it would ?

empty eventually. it has been dripping for 3days up to now about just over 1pt a day , how much water does a rad: hold its size is 120cm x 60cm or have I not shut off each end properly, I can't afford to replace it at the moment help

Often one or both of the valves fitted to a radiator will not seal of the water fully as over time crud can build up on the inside of the valves.
The best thing you can do is to take a large bowl, place it under one of the valves. Loosen the large not between the valve and the radiator, allow all the water to drain out of the radiator in to the bowl. You will need to open the bleed screw on the top of the radiator to get every drop out.
Then once all the water is out use some sand paper to clean off the paint around were the water has been leaking from the radiator. Then head of to B&Q and buy some plumbers fix, this is a pack of epoxy resin that comes in the form of two different blocks of plastic. You mix the two blocks together to activate the curing process. Force the mixed epoxy into the hole or crack, then allow it to dry for 6 hours.
You will then be able to paint over the top of the patch and re-use you radiator.
