What is a really good makeup concealer and powder foundation?
I've been using the Tru Blend liquid concealer and powder foundation by Cover Girl, but it does't blend very well. Also, I have acne on my forehead, and it doesn't cover it completely. I need a makeup concealer and powder foundationg that COMPLETELY covers blemishes, and blends well. I've tried so many different concealers, and they all looked cakey :/ Any suggestions?! PLEASE HELP!!!
Ok, so I have combination skin (oily T-zone and dry everywhere else) and I don't break out too much but when I do I want a makeup that covers my blemishes too. MAC Studio Tech is my fav. foundation to wear when I'm in front of the camera because it layers easily, but it comes off too easily, it gives too much coverage for everyday use, and it makes the oily parts of my face worse; and because it is comedogenic, it makes acne worse. Mary Kay foundation is great when you want medium coverage and are in a hurry, but it's a little too moisturizing for me, but it is non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin. Revlon Colostay makeup for oily/combination skin is awesome; it's like the ultimate makeup - it's sweatproof, waterproof (I've tested it at a water park and went swimming in it and it never came off), controls oil, gives full coverage, but it takes forever to put on. For everyday use though and a light look I recommend Covergirl Clean foundation for "Oil Control" because it is easy to layer, gives a natural look, is non-comedogenic, and has cleansers in it to combat acne, partnered with Covergirl professional loose powder to put on top. What is most important is how you apply your makeup to really conceal acne. At Victoria's Secret we have a camouflage color palette with green pigments, red pigments, yellow pigments, and like a neutral one. If you're serious about covering up acne you'd need to get a green pigmented concealer to opposite/neutralize the red pigments from the acne, but it's a long process and can be tedious trying to mix the other pigments to blend into your skin tone. The simplest way to solve your problem would be to layer the "Covergirl" foundation twice over your face to give you a medium-full coverage (using a foundation that is LIGHTER than your skin tone by one to two shades and has a yellow undertone to kinda fight into the redness from the acne) and then to use a powder that is darker than your skin tone by one to two shades and has a red undertone to blend in the redness from the acne.
