Foundation problems, flawless never happens!?
Hi there I wonder if you could help me. I am very pale, with a few freckles and lately I have been getting huge pores and subseqently, endless spots. I have tried all sorts of foundations, laura mercier, prescriptives, bobby brown, clinique, generally matte, plus good concealers, and I moisturise with bobby brown moisturiser before and mac primer before I put my foundation on, which I apply with a brush, but for some reason I always look flakey, cakey and eventually, just greasy. It's so annoying, please give me tips, I'm fed up looking so red and uneven and shiny!
Perhaps you're trying too many products, I did the same thing and it gave me more pimples because I was switching up everything so much.
First of all, MAC primer causes zits and does absolutely nothing for the lasting power of foundation, I tried it. Second, are you using and oil-free moisturizer? Just wash your face and dab an oil-free moistuirzer lightly on your skin. I tried every foundation and the only one I have found that works good is MAC Studio Fix Fluid ... it goes on flawless and full coverage, yet doesnt look cakey! I love it! I'd find one you like and stick to it tho, its not good to switch up products.
Also, to prevent cakiness...don't use too much foundation, a dot on the forehead, nose, each side of your cheeks, and then chin ... and then blend ... and thats all you need. It will look cakey if you use to much.
For the greasy face at the end of the day, I reccomend getting Clean and Clear blotting papers, I love them! They are like 2 bucks, you blot your face with them and it soaks up the oil without ruining your make up and it looks like you applied your make up as brand new again! Because the oil is responsible for some of the cakiness and overall ick.
