Why do some coffeehouses require you to sit there in order to get a free refill?
Some coffeehouses have a free refill policy, but the catch is that you can't leave the store after drinking your first cup. In other words, you can't come back with a paper cup later in the day.
This policy seems absurd, because few people have the time to sit for a 2nd cup....they may come back after work.
Not knocking the refill policy....it is nice.....but why is there such a stipulation?
Think about going to a restaurant, you get free refills on your drink...If you paid, left and came back and wanted a refill how much since would that make?
Starbucks offers a refill for 54 cents, or free if you have a registered Starbucks card, while you are in the store. If you leave and bring your cup back you can get 10 cents off your drink for re-using your cup.
If free refill were given to anyone anytime the company/shop would not make money, which would eventually lead to more layoffs and eventually shutting down.
