To Sydneysiders! Does hotel Ritz Carlton (in Double Bay)still exist?

Hi! i'm from Italy so please forgive me if my english isn't perfect:) So, does this hotel still exist? i heard that it should "be demolished in favour of yet another towering apartment building", is that true? if yes, why some internet sites still give the opportunity to book a room in the hotel that is no more??

The Ritz-Carlton (later called Stamford Plaza) has actually closed. While it's name still appears on hotel booking sites, you'll find it's impossible to actually make a booking.
