How many 2006 Silver Eagles did they make? And how many 2006 W?
How many 2006 and 2006 W Silver Eagles did the US Mint make? Please give separate mintages for both. I am getting confused because there are early releases, 20th anniversary sets, proofs, reverse proofs, and blue labels, black labels, First strikes, early releases, etc etc.
I am not sure all the figures have been released. Forget about first strikes, early release and all the different color labels for they are not a mint thing but done by companies so they can get more money out of the collector. Old timers like me don't fall for that bull anymore, we were stung once but not again. Those items lose value in the long run. The mint itself is investigation those companies and some are in court right now. I do not get a new Red Book every year so my 2007 lists no figures for 2006 for they were not out when they printed the book. See if you can find the new 2009 red Book and check the Silver eagle page to see if the mint figures are there. I think the made the 2006 regular uncirculated one that the sold to the big silver dealers that then sell to the small dealer. then they made an uncirculated one in a satin type finish in uncirculated to sell to collector I think it was a W mint mark one. then they made the proof with the W. They also mad an annaversary set that year that had the satin one, regular one and a special reverse proof one. It was a set of three and you had to buy it that way. Now you know as much as I do but check a new Red Book A Guide to U.S. coins. Hold it, I forgot I have another book 2006 10,676,522, 2006-W proof no figure listed, 2006-P reverse proof 250,000 and 2006W satin 209,000. Now you know as much as I do.
