Any tips on getting into Parsons?

I'm thinking of majoring in graphic or advertising design, my main goal would be to become an Art Director for a major brand. I'm going to be a highschool freshman this fall, and I guess it would be good to start getting ready early. So far, I've designed a pamphlet, t-shirt and logo for a local spa, but that's about as far as my work experience goes. I'm familiar with Photoshop Elements, and also have experience in traditional drawing. Some of my stuff is also on DeviantArt.com. Any tips?

You need to make sure you have a kick ass portfolio. Also, try interning at a local design studio. When you apply to parsons, they will also give you assignments to complete as part of the application process. Make sure you learn the Adobe Suite, in the latest versions. If your high school doesn't offer Graphic Design classes, check with your local community college. They usually offer non-credit classes that anyone in the community can take. They should have some for graphic design.
