is BareMinerals get started kit a rip off?
i posted a question about this b4 but i didnt get the answers i was looking for.
1) is it a waste of money?
2) does it cover problem skin?
3) will it last?
please i need as much info as possible as i dont have alot of money
ps Im only 15 will it mess my skin up?
Depends on what kinda skin you have. Here is a fivestar revier and a one star review for bareminerals that i found on amazon(NOT MINE!):
I have never worn foundation in my life. I hated being able to feel it on there, & I hated the effort of washing it off every night & how long it took to put on. This has solved all those problems. Applying the foundation takes maybe 30 seconds. I don't feel like I have anything on my face at all. Family was telling me how nice I looked, but when I told them I was wearing foundation they were surpised. It looked so natural. And this stuff won't hurt your skin if you leave in on at night. So no big hassle when you're tired & want to go to bed. The starter kit is the way to go; I was going to try just the foundation & was glad I got the starter kit. It's a really good deal over buying the things seperately as well.

I got suckered in. I admit it. I'm not usually one to fall for hype, but the infomercials are very convincing, and makeup is my weakness. I was intrigued by the idea of being able to wear very light makeup while still covering my imperfections. I hate heavy makeup, but I have rosacea, large pores, and fine lines (I'm 36), and my skin is sensitive. I'm also very pale, and I have a lot of trouble finding foundation that stays true without turning me yellow or pink. When I found a kit at Ulta, I got excited and bought it. I thought this stuff was the answer to all of my troubles.
Wrong!
My kit (pale) had two colors of foundation: the second and third palest that is offered. Neither color worked. The paler one was too pale and ghosted me out, the darker one matched a bit better but made me more yellow then any other foundation I've tried.
Well, fine, the colors didn't work. If that was the worst, I might try other colors. But it turns out the color miss-match was the least of my problems.
I have combo skin. While I have large pores, I'm actually slightly dry around my mouth and eyes, and this stuff sucked all the moister right out of my skin. Even over my richest moisturizer, this product dried me out, leaving behind flaky, cracked-looking skin.
It also settled into every line and pore, and coated all my fine facial hairs, magnifying everything 10 fold. Rather then covering imperfections, it accentuated them. If I used a light touch, it didn't cover my ruddiness. If I used more, it made me look sickly yellow. I have no idea why people say it's light and gives you a no-makeup look; when I used enough to conceal imperfections, it was very, very obvious I was wearing makeup.
I tried to use this makeup for days, convinced I was simply doing something wrong. I followed the directions, watched the DVD with mirror, makeup, and brush in hand (several times!), I practiced, I swirled, tapped, and buffed. Nothing made it look good.
Oh, and the brushes are terrible. They shed like crazy, and while soft, are certainly not of the professional quality that they imply they are.
I finally broke down and went to Clinque. Not only did they give me samples to try before I bought, but the prices were about the same, and the quality of makeup is 100x better. If you're going to drop a lot of cash on makeup, go to a department store and get samples. Don't be like me and fall for the hype. Try before you buy.
